My dad was in fact a drunken sailor when my mum first met him, so that one might have been a bit too close to home for her. She favoured 'A Frog Went Walking', and got us to do the ah-hums.
That and Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer were the first two songs I learnt to play on the guitar. Aged 11.
Re your comment on my blog, I believe it is the definition of growing up when instead of getting your mum to sew up your knitting, she will only knit for your children if YOU do the sewing up.
